Questions

hey everyone……i thought it would be fun to throw out some questions in preparation for the message this sunday in  our “God is…” series.  respond away….

  • when you think of all the things going wrong in the world, do you doubt God?
  • is it difficult for you to feel intimacy with God?
  • what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear that Jesus intercedes for you/us?
  • do you truly believe that God is “for” you?

    I wouldn’t say that I doubt Him, but I ask Him a whole lot of questions.

    * is it difficult for you to feel intimacy with God?

    Yes!

    * what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear that Jesus intercedes for you/us?

    Relief.

    * do you truly believe that God is “for” you?

    Most of the time, yes. But I spend a lot of time thinking about myself and how I can make my own life better… which seems to indicate that deep down I question it.

  4. Wow.. Great questions Chad! Alot I have been thinking about.

    1. Do I doubt God? No I don’t doubt but I do pray and ask Him to show me in His grace , what I’m not yet able to see or comprehend. Been listening a lot to Josh Wilson’s song “Before the Morning”

    2. Be intimate w God? No . This am REALLY thankful for. Knowing that God is with me and cares deeply about my life is the only thing that keeps me sane and able to do anything outside of myself. :)

    3.first thing about Jesus interceding ? Like whooooah! I’m always afraid if people aren’t praying for me that I’m going to fail… But then God reminds me that even if no one else is praying for me , that He (Jesus) is and that’s the best!

    4.god is for me? This one I really struggle with. I know God is for other people but I don’t always feel He is for me. Been thinking over Isaiah 53 the NLT version where is says that “imprisonment starvation and death will not be your fate…you are Mine ” says the Lord. Still struggling to believe that one though;)

  6. 1. I don’t doubt God- I am just reminded again that we live in a fallen world and we look happily for His return!
    2.Not difficult if I set aside the time to seek intimacy.
    3. Thankfulness.
    4. Yes, I do. I have seen his detailed care of me too many times to doubt that he loves and intercedes on my behalf…

  8. I trust Him with the larger things in life than my personal stuff at times. He has been teaching me a lot about His faithfulness and soverignty. My intimacy with Him has really soared these past couple of months. I forget that Jesus intercedes for us. I want to really know Christ more! I know God is for me, but Ive wre…stled with it before in questioning things in my life- circumstances, relationships, etc.
